So they hired some local marketing experts that figured out some really creative ways to use social media and get them new customers.

The marketing team started a twitter page and Facebook page and then got a cash mob going so the business would get a huge surge. The article said it was such a huge success that people had wrapped all around the store. The business had been struggling to have 8 customers a day and they all the sudden had over 800.

I think that was so clever by the marketing team they also set it up they donated some proceeds to a local charity. Any one that sells a product or owns a business can not underestimate the importance of having a good marketing plan. If you’re not effectively getting your product or message out to the public then you cannot expect to succeed.

I am amazed everything that goes into a campaign to make a product or company successful especially for a small business. It is so much more than sending out a tweet or updating a Facebook status. If I ever get to open my own small business I will be getting some help from marketing experts.

My mom and dad recently went to http://www.tvbydirect.com/ and subscribed to the king, mack daddy of all satellite TV deals. This was a huge shock to me because this is totally not parents style at all. They are the type of people who have had the same computer with dial-up internet for the past 17 years. I mean for crying out loud, it was only two weeks ago that they got rid of their 25 year old television which only got six channels. I honestly though that they would live in the “stone age” for ever. I guess people do change. My mom even had me set up a Facebook account for her yesterday. Now, her being able to use it or even understand how to turn the computer on is a different story. Times were different when they were growing up. I guess people had to actually call each other on the phone and write letters by hand to communicate. Technology sure has sped up our life, I just wish sometimes we could take a second breathe.

Dale and Thomas Review and Giveaway!
AMAZING!!!!! This popcorn is so good you will be hooked I have made popcorn with chocolate on it before and it was no way near as good as this. My favorite was the Twice-As-Nice Chocolate Drizzle Corn and Chris loved the Dark Fudge with Praline Almonds. The kids loved all of it. Right now as I write this post Thor and I are finishing off the Cinnamon Crème Drizzle corn and it is still so good and fresh and we have had it for over a week and it is been open for a few days. The best way I can explain the taste is it melts in your mouth and it is the perfect salty, chocolaty, sweet combination.
You will quickly learn from following my blog that I think the iPad is a wonderful learning tool. I am so thankful to be able to provide it to my children and I think it really has helped them a lot. I am always on the lookout for new educational apps and books. My kids love to read on the iPad. We go into the city once a week and it means a two hour car ride and during that time they spend it reading books on the iPad.

So we just got done trying out as you might have read in the previous post A Frog Thing and the kids give it 5 stars! They also loved Treasure Island in fact it was Jack’s Favorite. I enjoyed the story myself and Jack talked about finding Treasures for the rest of the day. I love when a book makes an impression on a child. I also love this book is right now only $.99 cents that is however a special introductory price, so you want to try and pick it up before the price rises. I think it is amazing to be able to add a wonderful book to your kids collection for less than $1.00.

The same goes with this collection just like other titles your little reader can do so much. My favorite thing is the picture and word association. My oldest Jack is 5 and is doing such a great job reading and I think a lot of that is from practicing with these type of books. He loves books but even gets more involved when he is reading them on the iPad. They are also great apps to have on trips instead of taking and damaging books you have them all at your fingertips right on your phone or iPad.

The stories come with three different modes: One is read to me Carly does this one she is 4. Read it myself is the option Jack uses, and I set it on Auto Play when I am helping Thor with it.

In the first book collection you get:

The Cat in the Hat stars a cheerful and exotic Cat that brings chaos to the house of two young kids on a rainy day while their mother is out.

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish is a freewheeling plot about a boy and a girl and the many amazing creatures they meet. (My personal Favorite)

• The FOOT Book introduces the concept of opposites through funny and creative depictions of different kinds of feet!

• Mr. Brown Can MOO! Can You? is Dr. Seuss's Book of Wonderful Noises and explores with children the sounds they hear everyday and how to mimic them!

• Fox in Socks features two delightful characters, Fox and Knox, who converse almost entirely in rhyming tongue-twisters. "A tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in sox, sir!"

Available for Apple devices for $11.99 I have personally tried the app on an original iPad, iPad2, and iPhone4 and it worked flawlessly on all three devices.

My Pinterest Valentines Day Finds!

Unless you have been living under a rock somewhere then you have heard of Pinterest.com the virtual cork board.
