Oh Say Can You Say Di-no-saur? omBook Review
Monday, February 27, 2012 at 3:14PM The kids and I recently got to try out a new app release from Oceanhouse Media called Oh Say Can You Say Di-no-saur? We tried it on the iPad, iPad2, iPhone 4, and it works great on all three.
Oh Say Can You Say Di-no-saur? The second omBook in our The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library series, is available for the special introductory price of $3.99 for Apple devices. Join the Cat in the Hat on an expedition millions of years back in time to find dinosaur fossils. Then travel to the modern day Super Dino Museum to discover amazing dinosaur facts and stunning visuals. As older readers explore this animated omBook, they'll learn interesting facts about the dinosaurs and details of their prehistoric lives. They can search each page for hidden information cards from Thing One and Thing Two, tap images to extend a ladder or measure the length of a Brachiosaurus, and access an instant glossary by tapping on special bold words. Simply tap the dinosaur name on any page to uncover information like this:
"Ankylosaurus: This 30-foot-long dinosaur had an armor-covered body and a club tail it could swing from side to side. A well-placed blow with its tail could break the leg of a T. rex!
What we thought:
I have shared many times before that my son Jack loves dinosaurs he is 5 and in Kindergarten and tells everyone he is going to be a paleontologist when he grows up. I have actually purchased many dinosaur related apps for his iPad. In my opinion this one is a great deal for only $3.99 and remember that is an introductory rate so it can go up and with this app I think it will because it really offers so much. I paid $6.99 for another dinosaur app that did not offer half of what you get with this app also the visuals is way better.
Disclosure:
I was provided a code to try the app for free. No other compensation was provided. It did not sway my opinion of the product. I really thing the app is great!
