One of the things I love to do with my kids is encourage them to use their imagination to create or visualize events or stories in their minds. A really great way to do this is with reading or listening to a story on cd. We recently got Story Harbour Vol. 1 performed by Zette Harbour. This is a really entertaining and rich collection of stories. I love you get to hear stories from all over the world.

This CD, at first glance, is a beautifully performed collection of world folktales by Traditional Storyteller, Zette Harbour. Give a second, third, and more, listen, and you find yourself discovering a deeper resonance and meaning in each tale. On the surface, yes, they are tales about gratitude, honoring promises, being fair, and more. Deeper down, though, we are given a glimpse of some of life's greatest teachers - longing, loss, triumph and surprise. Children and grown-ups alike, find themselves drawn to hear these tales over and over, and, at the end of the CD, calling out for more.
I love this part it is Eco-consciously packaged in a Zero Carbon Footprint Digipak™!!!!!!
My Opinion:
Listening to Zette Harbour’s CD, I was most of all impressed with the fact that she kept mine and the kids attention. The stories are so rich and full it opened up so many questions with the kids and most of all I loved it was helping them to retain information from the story. After each story we would talk about it and I would ask them questions and they were retaining a lot of information showing me they were enjoying the stories and paying attention.
We love listening in the car and I think it would be great for any age. A very special stocking stuffer for sure!
