    Sneaking Healthy In!

There is a new Twitter Mom's blog contest. Twitter Moms www.twittermoms.com and Horizon Little Blends www.LittleBlends.com want to know how moms sneak fruits and veggies into their toddler's diet.
If you have met my kids then you know I have to be very sneaky. It is very imporant to me that my children grow up help healthy and with good eating habits. Jack and Carly make this rather hard at times so I have to use creative measures. Here is some of those measures I use!

    •  I sneak and blend the veggies and fruit in. I am always searching the web for new recipies to  help with this.
    • I include the kids when at the grocery store letting them help me pick fresh veggies and fruit and skipping the cookie aisle. Out of site out of mind.
    • I make it a game. Yes we play with are veggies sometimes.
    • I also bribe and beg at times bad I know.
    • The other thing is pack fresh veggies and fruit on road trips and at the park. Carly will eat carrotts and peanut butter and celery at the park but not at home!
What are some ways you sneak in food to your kids? Include your blog post here http://www.twittermoms.com/forum/topics/sneaking-fruits-veggies-into when you enter this Twitter Mom's contest! Also fill free to comment any tips you have for me or other readers!

How do I sneak in veggies? If possible, I mash it or cut it very small (like carrots, zucchini, squash) and mix it with their rice. Works well especially if there is soup. Sometimes, I put it in ground meat for patties. It helps to train their tongue to eat vegetables while young. So that when they are bigger, they will eat it eventually.

Following. Thanks for the twitter message. I just put them on the plate. No hiding. We don't have second in our house (or desserts) unless we finish our "firsts" so they know they need to eat their fruits and veg if they want extra of anything else.

I also have them out in the open so they make quick and easy snacks. :)

Hi, I like your post I think it is very important that we play a big role in our children's eating habits. Fortunate for me I don't have a problem getting my kids to eat their veggies. My 14 year old tends not to eat them that much, so I have to be on him more then my 7 and 8 year old. My two little girls love veggies, thank God I don't have a problem in that area.

I don't think you should "sneak" fruits and veggies into your kids' food. I think having it out and in their face is the best way to have your kids eat healthy.
